WarrantyCert is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What Data We Collect

  • Account information: email address and company name (provided during signup)
  • Certificate data: product names, serial numbers, customer names, emails, and phone numbers (entered when issuing certificates)
  • Claim and service request data: issue descriptions and contact preferences (submitted by customers)
  • Basic usage data: anonymous page views via Plausible Analytics (no cookies, no personal data)

How Data Is Stored

All data is stored in a SQLite database on our server. Files (logos, PDFs) are stored on the local filesystem. We do not use third-party cloud storage.

Data Retention

Your account data and certificates are retained for as long as your account is active. Demo certificates are automatically deleted after 24 hours. When you request account deletion, all associated data (certificates, templates, claims, service records, and uploaded files) is permanently removed within 5 business days.

Third-Party Services

We use a limited number of third-party services to operate WarrantyCert: Resend for transactional email delivery (receives recipient email addresses only), and Plausible Analytics for anonymous, cookie-free usage statistics (receives no personal data). We do not share your data with any other third parties.

No Third-Party Data Sales

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is used solely to provide the WarrantyCert service.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie for authentication. It is HttpOnly and SameSite=Strict. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party cookies.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics for anonymous, aggregate page view statistics. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and is fully GDPR compliant.

Your Rights (GDPR)

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, email us at the address below. We will respond within 5 business days.

Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify affected users by email within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.
